Apple Cuts The Price Of Its Thunderbolt Cable

9to5Mac:

Apple has reduced the price of its 2.0 m Thunderbolt cable from $49 to $39. The Thunderbolt cable, which can be used for data transfers and for display attachment purposes, was originally released in mid-2011.

Better than nothing, but still seems prohibitively expensive for Thunderbolt to become widely adopted.

This situation is sort of problematic, because the third-party supply of Thunderbolt cables just doesn’t really exist. In a quick Amazon search, I could not find one third-party Thunderbolt cable on sale. You can get 2 metre USB 3 cables for less than $5.
