Schmidt Insinuates That Google Now For iOS Has Been Submitted For Review, Apple Denies

“You’ll need to discuss that with Apple,” Schmidt said. “Apple has a policy of approving or disapproving apps that are submitted into its store, and some of the apps we make they approve and some of them they don’t.”

However, Apple has confirmed to CNET that the Google Now application was never submitted for approval to its App Store.

Schmidt never said outright that they had submitted a Now app to the store, but that was the obvious implication. A couple of years ago, Schmidt saying silly things was a common event, but he has restrained his outlandish comments significantly since then, making his comments on Now for iOS all the more strange.

Irrespective of this weird PR situation, I am pretty confident that Google has plans to release an incarnation of Now on iOS, sometime soon. I would wager to see it — albeit rather sarcastically — within six months.
