Ben Lovejoy Suggests That The Cheap iPhone Will Become The New 'Free' Option24 June 2013bzamayo.com/ben-lovejoy-cheap-iphone-free9to5Mac: We don’t yet know what the plastic iPhone will cost, but we’ve seen numbers ranging from an exceedingly unlikely $99 to a high-end estimate of $349-99 range. Even if it’s at the top end of that range, it’s going to be on par with the 4S. Any carrier subsidy that allows them to offer a free 4S would allow them to offer a free plastic iPhone instead. I think this makes a lot of sense. It also simplifies the product lineup considerably, removing 3.5inch displays and 30-pin connectors from the iPhone range, which is beneficial to Apple and the developer community.
